The year is 1898, and most of the state is still recovering from the Civil War. The economy remains in a stage of rebuilding and adjusting to the new age of the nation. The old social order of the antebellum south is gone. The frontier of America is being overtaken by the ever expanding civilization of the east. The State of Kingston Plains is now at a crossroads, with the past fighting the present.

You will arrive in Kingston Plains via boat in either Saint Denis or Blackwater. These are the best places to meet people, make connections, and possibly change fortunes. Be careful, however, not to walk down the wrong alleyway. Not everywhere is safe!
